Terms of sale and use
Last updated October 7, 2026
These terms cover buying and using BureauGap. BureauGap is a product of TBG Strategic Consulting LLC ("we", "us"). By buying a licence or using the console, you agree to them. Questions go to hello@bureaugap.com.
What you can buy
- Credit console licence — $29, paid once. It opens the console at bureaugap.com/console/. It is a perpetual licence for one person. It includes twelve months of updates. After that you can renew updates for $19 a year, as a separate one-off payment, if you want them. The version you have keeps working whether you renew or not.
- Bankruptcy forms licence — $129, paid once. It opens the console and the Chapter 7 bankruptcy forms module, for one household and one filing.
- Household licence — $39, paid once. It opens the console for two or more people who live in one home, each person's reports kept apart. It includes updates on the same terms as the credit console licence. It is not on sale until its checkout is switched on.
None of them is a subscription. Nothing renews automatically and nothing is charged again unless you choose to renew updates for $19 a year. That is a separate one-off payment each time, never a subscription. The bankruptcy forms licence has no renewal.
How you get it
Payment is taken by Stripe, on Stripe's own page. We never see your card number. When the payment goes through, a licence key is sent to the email address you paid with. The key is how you open the console. There is no account and no password. If you lose the email, bureaugap.com/recover sends the same key again to the address that paid.
How the console works
The console runs in your web browser, on your own computer. You download your credit reports as PDFs, for example from annualcreditreport.com, and open them in the console. They are read inside the browser tab. Your reports are not uploaded to us. The page's security policy tells the browser to block it from sending data anywhere, and you can check that policy in your browser's developer tools.
If you choose to keep your reports for next time, a copy is stored in your browser's storage, on this computer. It is not encrypted. "Forget these reports" in the console erases it.
What BureauGap is not
- It is not a credit repair organization, not a law firm and not a credit bureau.
- It shows what your reports say, where they differ from each other, and where one report contradicts itself. It does not give legal or financial advice.
- It does not promise, predict or estimate any change to a credit score or a credit record.
- It does not write letters for you or send anything on your behalf. It does not contact a credit bureau or a lender for you. It does not rank items by how likely they are to be removed.
The bankruptcy forms module
The module helps you fill in your own Chapter 7 case on the U.S. Official Bankruptcy Forms. It copies facts from your reports and from your answers onto the forms, and it does the math the forms ask for.
- It does not give legal advice and it is not a lawyer.
- It does not choose a chapter, which exemptions to claim, which schedule a debt goes on, or whether to keep, surrender or reaffirm anything. You make every one of those choices.
- It does not file anything. You review, sign and file the forms yourself.
- It is for Chapter 7 only. For Chapter 13, or if you would rather have a lawyer, see an attorney. The module's download brings your data with you.
We recommend that a bankruptcy attorney or a free legal aid office review your forms before you file.
Your part
- Use the console on your own credit reports, or on reports you have permission to read.
- The answers you type into the bankruptcy module are yours. Check them. The forms can only be as right as the facts that go into them.
- Keep your licence to the people it covers: one person for the credit console licence, the people in one home for the household licence. Do not resell it or post the key.
Refunds
See the refund policy. When a purchase is refunded or disputed, its licence key stops opening the console.
No warranty
We work hard to read reports correctly, and we say on screen when the console cannot read something. Even so, the software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Credit reports change format, and a reading can be wrong. Check anything you plan to act on against the report itself.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about BureauGap is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not take away a licence you have already bought.
